I'm Reed Fish (2006) $$$

A great little film that I'm sure we all missed. Charming story and cast, simple direction, and just the right amount of humor and sarcasm. Take the time to enjoy. If you liked Juno and Little Miss Sunshine you'll like this story. MM$ approved.

Traitor (2008) $$$

See this film now! Been waiting for something good, emotion, intense? Well this is it. One of the better films I've seen of late. You should take the time to check it out. Don Cheadle gives a great performance as the lead and the story is compelling. Worth your $12 bucks! MM$ approved.

Babylon AD (2008) $

Not sure it could get much worse! Terrible acting, editing, etc. Unfortunate considering the director is the same as "La Haine" but that's the way it works I guess. Some get better, others get worse. Not much else to say. MM$

Star Wars: Clone Wars (2008) $$$

Originally conceived as a cartoon for television it all changed when George Lucas saw the first production. Now a feature and introduction for the series this will satisfy Star Wars fanatics. Easy to watch and full of fun characters it's totally worth a Saturday afternoon. MM$

Pineapple Express (2008) $$$

Not as funny as Superbad or Knocked Up, but still pretty hilarious. Rogen looks like he's acting the entire time. Newcomer Danny McBride is the stand out here. Check for him in Tropic Thunder as well. MM$

Tropic Thunder (2008) $$$

Totally inappropriate! Totally hilarious! If you can say "Booty Sweat" and spot the cameo you'll love this film! MM$

Legend of the Black Scorpion (2006) $$$

A Chinese version of "Hamlet" with kung fu and Ziyi Zhang. Slow and long, but entertaining with some great cinematography and fight sequences. Watch it here for free. MM$

Wait 'til Netflix!

Indiana Jones 4 (2008) $$ Boring, over acted, over written, too old, you have to be 6 to love this adult movie. p.s. except for Cate Blanchett who I think I want to marry after Liv Tyler. The Happening (2008) 1/2 $ Horribly written, but even worse acting. M. Night has totally lost it! Don't give it even 5 seconds consideration for a visit to the theatre. MM$

The Incredible Hulk (2008) $$$$

I was totally suprised and entertained by this film. Lots of hidden references if you ever watched the TV show or read the comic book. A couple great cameos. Made me smile. Tim Roth better than he usually is and you almost get past Norton's arrogance. Oh, and I'm still in love with Liv Tyler even though her younger sister is like 10 x's hotter! MM$

So looking forward to this! MM$

Not my typical entry, but I like all things. So check this out when it hits your town. MM$
Please see this movie asap!!!! First off, it's an incredible piece of film making considering the subject matter and all that could have happened surrounding it. What the Abberton brothers have overcome is remarkable and their actions say way more than anything I could ever write. I met Sunny and Koby through my friend James and they're amazing people! So please pay the $11 bucks to see this film and help make Bra Boys available to more theatres around America. MM$ p.s. I forgot to mention it's narrated by Russell Crowe and features some of the most insane waves in the world.

Man with the Golden Arm (1955) $$$

Just watched this movie and the amazing performance Frank Sinatra. Preminger is brilliant as usual. Kim Novak is so incredibly beautiful and vulnerable that I was in awe everytime she was on the screen. You should watch this when you're in the right mood. MM$

Subway (1985) $$$

Christopher Lambert looking like a blonde, tuxedoed Sid Vicious. Isabelle Adjani providing Monica Belucci some amazing inspiration. Classic 80's music, car chases, explosions, tons of neon lights, oh and Jean Reno with hair. Luc Besson makes the semi-artistic, sorta cheasy, always melodramatic, full of cliches, but always fun to watch movies that I love and want to make. MM$

The Deer Hunter (1978) $$$

I don't really think I was engaged in this film, but it certainly has an edge to it. Along with a great cast there's amazing moments of tension. A classic that probably shouldn't be missed. MM$

Capote (2005) $$$$

An amazing performance by Hoffman. A frightening story. Great art direction and wardrobing. Haunting music. A talented writer. A must see (when you're in the right head set). MM$

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) $$$

Totally intense and Hoffman does it again. Ethan Hawke gives his best performance since "Training Day" and Albert Finney is good as always. If you liked "13 Tzameti" then you should enjoy this. Not the same style of film, but both will give you anxiety. Oh, and I love the dealer in this movie! So NYC! MM$ Or watch it here.

Factory Girl (2006) $$$

This movie totally inspired my Halloween costume for '07. I adore Sienna Miller simply for the shape of her upper lip. I love how it flattens out when she talks and smiles. She's also got amazing style, a sick rig, and horrible taste in men. All of which I find incredibly attractive! MM$ p.s. the wig took hours to get just right.

Tzameti aka 13 Thirteen (2005) $$$$

Watch this movie! Period. Especially if you hate subtitles because it will change that forever. It's not in Spanish, I just love the art direction of this poster. MM$

Cidade dos Homens aka City of Men (2007) $$$$

WOW! If you loved "City of God" the precursor to this film or have seen the TV series that sets this film up then you're going to love this film! I walked out with a feeling of great tragedy, but of even greater hope. The two leads are extremely charming and the girlfriend who gets her head shaved is amazingly vulnerable. The father is totally convincing and the gangsters do what they're supposed to do (kill or be killed). Please go see this film! MM$

Naissance des Pieuvres aka Water Lilies (2007) $$$

An erotic journey into female adolescence (to say the least). It was an interesting film and the acting was pretty amazing considering the age of the actors. Not the greatest cinematography, but the story was the focus anyway. With hints of "Lolita" and "Swimming Pool" some parts may be hard to watch for those not comfortable with young sex, but therein lies the honesty of the film. MM$
